3 Mardi Gras-Inspired Beverages

By: Lauren Landry

Celebrate carnival season with purple, gold, and green-colored beverages!

mardis gras

The Mardi Gras celebrations have already started in January and will end on Shrove Tuesday or the day before Ash Wednesday, which is on March 1st of this year. Although it’s a Catholic event, people, regardless of their religious beliefs, love to celebrate with the locals because of its fun festivities that last for weeks. With that said, creating a marketing campaign based on this series of events is a good idea, and it is perfect to start right after Valentine’s Day.

The Rex Parade is the city's most famous parade on Mardi Gras Day and dons the colors purple, gold, and green. The first parade in 1872 used these colors, and today, they are everywhere in New Orleans during this time of year. Creating limited-edition beverages in this color is an excellent way to join in the celebration.

Even if your boba tea shop is miles away from New Orleans, you can celebrate with your customers and entice them with a new set of limited edition drinks in fun, whimsical colors. These drinks can be easily made with the right boba supplies and ingredients.

Here are three Mardi Gras-inspired drinks that you can offer to your customers for a limited time:

#1 Violet Pearl Milk Tea

#2 Brass Banana Slushie

#3 Apple Creme de Menthe Fizz with Popping Pearls

#1 Violet Pearl Milk Tea

A purple Mardi Gras-inspired beverage that you can offer your customers is the Violet Milk Tea with Chewy Pearls. First of all, it comes with a beautiful purple color that matches purple decorations. Second, it has a creamy taste and a chewy texture. The violet syrup in it gives the drink a lovely scent of spring violets and adds just the right sweetness.

Ingredients of Violet Pearl Milk Tea:

- Violet syrup

- Milk

- Vanilla ice cream

- Ice cubes

- Chewy Tapioca Pearls

How to make Violet Pearl Milk Tea:

Pour all the ingredients except the chewy pearls into a blender cup. Blend until smooth, then pour into a cup. Add the chewy pearls and a drizzle of violet syrup. Serve.

Recommended syrup: Monin Violet Syrup

Monin’s Violet Syrup is vegan, highly concentrated, and made with authentic ingredients. This syrup can add a sophisticated touch and floral accent to beverages and is perfect for lemonades, iced teas, and other mixed drinks.

#2 Brass Banana Slushie

Bananas may be yellow, but banana syrups have a beautiful yellow gold or brass color, so a drink made from this fruit is perfect as a Mardi Gras limited edition beverage. The Brass Banana Slushie offers a fruity sweet flavor and a refreshing cold treat for a warm day.

Ingredients of Brass Banana Slushie:

- Sliced ripe bananas

- Banana syrup

- Milk

- Dash of nutmeg

- Ice cubes

- Whipped cream

How to make Brass Banana Slushie:

Place all the ingredients in a blender except the whipped cream, and blend until smooth. Pour in a cup. Top off with a dollop of some whipped cream and drizzle some more banana syrup to add more flavor, sweetness, and that beautiful golden color.

Recommended syrup: DaVinci Gourmet Banana Syrup

DaVinci Gourmet’s Banana syrup can add the delicious taste of freshly ripened bananas to any beverage. It can also be used in desserts and snacks.

#3 Apple Creme de Menthe Fizz with Popping Pearls

Finally, we have our green Mardi Gras drink – the Apple Creme de Menthe Fizz. The combination of these flavors can give anyone a refreshing kick with just the right amount of sweetness. It also comes in a beautiful emerald green color that matches the green Mardi Gras beads.

Ingredients of Apple Creme de Menthe Fizz with Popping Pearls:

- Green apple syrup

- Creme de menthe syrup

- Milk

- Ice cubes

- Carbonated water

- Tea Zone green Apple Popping Pearls
