Valentine’s Day Themed Recipes
By: Ireland Lee

Valentine's Day has various interpretations, ranging from expressing love, to a day for chocolate enthusiasts, to a commercial occasion for cards and sweets. Despite the differing perceptions, the holiday has a rich history behind it. Celebrated globally, the exact origins of the holiday are debatable, with theories ranging from a prisoner named Valentine falling in love with his jailor's daughter, to the Christian church's attempt to replace Lupercalia, to a bishop named St. Valentine who secretly married couples during a time of prohibited marriages. The holiday took a more romantic approach during the Victorian Era and is celebrated as such today. February is also recognized as National Chocolate Month, and Ghirardelli, the oldest continuously operating chocolate factory in the US, is celebrating 170 years of delicious chocolates and treats.

Check out these delectable recipes, perfect for surprising someone special or treating yourself on Valentine's Day!
